Whether you are a gay solo traveler in search of a little adventure and companionship or a couple who wants to have fun in the sun, there are lots of gay friendly destinations to check out in Spain. Many destinations in Spain have designated gay zones, while in other parts of the country gay travelers are welcome to roam wherever they choose.
The gay scene is alive and well in Barcelona and visitors to this large city will find plenty of great places to hang out. There are lots of gay bars and clubs to be found throughout the city, while Eixample is the city’s primary gay zone. Many locals and visitors to the city head to Chernobyl Beach in the daytime as this is one of the city’s main cruising areas and Montjuic Park is another good spot to make connections and unwind for a while.
People who have their sights set on unwinding on a picturesque sun kissed island will want to head to Gran Canaria to soak up the sun for a while. The main gay friendly beach here is Playa Del Sol and many of the resorts that can be found here are reserved exclusively for the guys. This means that gay men who travel to this part of Spain will really be in their element. Playa Del Sol also boasts its own gay nudist section that is known simply as Number 7, while a colorful collection of more than fifty different gay bars as well as excellent restaurants and shops can be found at the nearby Yumbo Centre.
Although swimsuits are optional, a good time is guaranteed at the special gay friendly beach at Sitges. There are also several gay run hotels to choose from here, like Parrots Hotel and The Liberty Hotel, while there are also plenty of bars and clubs where the boys can get their groove on.
